Ash Williams heeft een onvolwassen lifestyle en woont op zichzelf in een caravan in het bos. Nietsvermoedend ontwaakt Ash na het lezen van het dodenboek een demon. Deze Kandarian demon brengt een reeks nieuwe plaag met zich mee. Het is aan Ash om het kwaad te bestrijden. De tv-serie is het vervolg op de Evil Dead trilogy.
